Bible study week: Home fellowships part 3

Greetings to you once more and welcome to this week's Bible study. I would like to start of by acknowledging the positive feedback that I received from different people. I thank you for your contributions. Without further ado lets look at what we will be discussing today.

The gospel toolbox

The gospel has often been watered down and tailored just to suite the needs of the audience yet that is not what we are called to testify. The truth is we are all sinners and whosever claims not to have sinned is living a "lie" and should repent.

In the book of John (chapter 3 verse 5 to 8) we see Christ setting an example for us through his baptism by John the Baptist. Now. many do not see that as the antitype, an foreshadow of the things to come just as the children of Israel escaped from the cruel jaws of death in Egypt only to cross the sea which others failed to cross.

The day of Judgement is knocking on the door and only those who have received Jesus through the baptism by water and received the Holy Spirit will be part of the eternal kingdom of God. Whenever we share the gospel, let us remember to do what the Bible prescribes as the road to salvation.

John 3 has a typical response to those who are seeking to enter the Kingdom of Heaven just as Nicodimus had inquired.

Do not be fooled by false teachers who preach another Jesus or another gospel. Run away from such teachings as Paul advised in the latter to the church of Corinth. Even if an angel gives such a false gospel, let him be a curse.

The book of Revelation, chapter 20 gives a result that will happen to those who mislead the masses into a pit.

In the Old Testament, we see Moses receiving the laws that showed mankind how their hearts were desperately wicked and that in their own strength they could not be Holy and deserved punishment. It is only through the blood of Jesus are we saved. Acknowledging that we need to have a complete turnaround to renew our minds is perhaps a start in the journey to salvation.

Unless we as believers endure to the end, our crown will be lost. Let us strive to draw nearer to God through His son Jesus and also with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

In my final remarks, I pray that as we approach the end of the age, we examine ourselves and start fulfilling the assignment that God has set out for us. Like Noah, an ark is being built and it is up to you to warn people of the impending flood. Well , i pray that when we share the gospel we do not omit its key ingredients of the baptism of water and the power of the Holy Spirit. Ladies and gentlemen the time has come to anounce the unveiling of God's Kingdom here on earth. Let us be equiped and use the tools at our disposal diligently.

Until next time its goodbye.
