Bible study week; Home fellowships part 2
Greetings to you brothers and sisters in Christ. It is awesome that this week we disuss the topic for the week. I am glad that we are still going strong. My hope is that as disciples we continue to grow and look forward to growing our community. As usual, i have prepared a short video which comes with the topic for this week. Don't hesitate to add a comment or perhaps share your views on what is happening in your journey with Jesus. Amen.
The gathering of the saints
Matthew 18:20 (NIV):
> "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."
As I waa writing this article I began to reflect on how the Lord has nurtured my spiritual growth in Christ as a mother would tend to her child. In my time of seeking the truth about the Kingdom of God I was introduced to a family which helped me to see what it means to walk in Christ.
In 2019, after being born again, my life took a different twist. I saw the hand in God by introducing me to fellow believers who would assist me in studying the Bible which for a greater part I had been doing on my own.
Fast forward to my journey in my travels sharing the gospel, i began to see the value of home fellowships as we continued to learn more about the Kingdom of God. In summary this is what I discovered is a common denominator amoungst most home fellowships I have been to.
1. Welcome
Creating an inviting and loving atmosphere sets the tone for fellowship. It ensures everyone feels accepted and included.
Scripture:
"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." (Romans 15:7)
Hospitality is essential in Christian gatherings: "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." (Hebrews 13:2)
---
2. Worship
Worship acknowledges God’s presence and aligns hearts with Him. It can include songs, prayers, and moments of adoration.
Scripture:
"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)
Singing and praising are core acts of worship: "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation." (Psalm 95:1)
---
3. Word
The Word is central to fellowship, as it teaches, corrects, and encourages spiritual growth through studying Scripture.
Scripture:
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)
The early church devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching: "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship." (Acts 2:42)
---
4. Witness
Witnessing involves sharing testimonies of God’s work in our lives and spreading the Gospel message.
Scripture:
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
Believers are called to declare God’s works: "Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." (Psalm 96:3).
CONCLUSION
I would like to encourage us as believers that we continue to fellowship with one another. The gathering of the saints is most important in the Kingdom of God. Let us remember to invite those persons of peace that God has put on our path so that they too may see the goodness of God. Until next time its goodbye. May God bless you.
Good day brother, it has been a long time since I've commented on these messages of yours. This was so refreshing and encouraging. I'm busy realizing how necessary it is to keep positive communication. Thank you brother for sharing what the Lord Jesus is doing in your life, and depositing in your heart. This is an essential thing for bringing into remembrance every good thing Jesus Christ has called us to be, and to walk in... Praying Scripture: May Jesus strengthen you and all our brothers and sisters for the road ahead, and PS91 we remain dwelling in the secret shelter of the Most High, remaining secure and resting in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
