Bible study week: Sharing Jesus part 3
Introduction
Greetings to you all. I am excited to be with you all. I just wanted to thank all the people that gave their feedback and support. I appreciate your input thus far. Let us start of with a recap. In part one we talked about being a disciple, in part 2 we spoke about prayer evangelism and in part 3 we will explore friendship evangelism. I am excited to also share an audio which you can also listen to. Enjoy. Remember to have your Bible with you as yiu studyvwith ne Luke 10. Lets get started.
GETTING TO GET KNOW THE COMMUNITY
In Luke 10, we find Jesus sending out the 72 disciples, two by two on a mission to practice what they have learnt from their apprenticeship training with Jesus. Now, before sending them out, Jesus gives them some instructions about their assignment.
Jesus tells them that they need to knock and whatever house receives them they should stay there and enjoy their hospitality. That is find the Son of peace.
Key principle
As a disciple, God has prepared for you the people that will receive you. But be led by the Holy Spirit to find them. When you do establish a relationship with them. Jesus spent time with a lot unbelievers in the communities he travelled to meeting people such as the tax collectors and outcasts in society. He would later demostrate the Kingdom of Heaven to them by teaching them the word of God.
Fellowship with the people
Jesus also points out how important it is to eat what your hosts eat and spend time with the Son or in other translations person of peace.
Key principle
In the book of Acts we see the disciples finding persons of peace such as the Ethiopian eunuch in chapter 8 which is key in unlocking the community to the evangelist Philip. One sees this pattern with Paul in the same book of Acts. The person of peace is Key.
Bless the community
After you have been received, God starts to do the work. It is only through the power of GOD that signs and wonders follow those who believe.
If they are not welcoming Jesus points out that one should move on.
Conclusion
This week we need to take time in the communities where we are staying to practice the Luke 10 principles. Go out and spend a day with a person of peace. Eat with them at McDonald's over a burger meal or something. Then let God do the the rest through the Holy Spirit. The key is to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Enjoy this week guys. Next week we continue with our series. Enjoy.
