Christian testimonies : A moment to reflect on the week

Greetings to all the readers in the different part of the world. It gives me great joy to share the experiences I have encountered and the lessons I been learning so far. God is always full of surprises I tell you. Life as a disciple is a which unfolds with each passing day. This past week I was blessed to meet some bretheren as well as receive a gift from an anonymous lady who contributed with some Bibles. Well let me not spoil your story by giving too much detail. A weekend of street preaching

It was a warm Saturday morning and I had just completed my workout routine and was walking to a nearby restaurant to have something to eat when suddenly I heard a loud voice calling in a distance. As I stood for a minute to pick up the gist of the message behind the booming voice, the word Jesus was mentioned as well as repentance.

In my mind I had no doubt that I should follow the voice and before long, I was but a stone’s throw away from the speakers which were echoing a message from the gospel and it was there that I stood on one side of a busy main road hoping that the traffic lights would turn red soon enough before the voice behind the gospel disappeared.

Sure enough, my prayer was answered and I stood there talking to two brothers in Christ while the other brother continued preaching on the microphone.

These men were traveling around South Africa sharing the gospel. This brought me joy because here I was not expecting to meet any bretheren and the God shows me these three passionate men sharing the gospel next to a traffic light talking about Jesus.

I pray that God will protect these three men travelling in the unknown with their bakkie.

The gift

It was just last Tuesday that I took a short walk to grab a coffee when I bumped into this lady who was going the same direction. Clearly she was in a rush but somehow she asked me if I knew about the Jesus. Now for someone who has been witnessing for over two years that seemed to be a no brainer. However, I paused one moment to give my testimony to her.

Now it is interesting that she had a Bible in her hand and said that she would give it to the first person she met that day.

Well, she was shocked by how the day had turned out and asked me if I could accompany her to her car to get a gift she had prepared for me. Well, not knowing what to expect I accompanied her to the car where she opened a box which had new Bibles.

I could not contain my joy and thanked this anonymous lady for her gift. Moreover, God sent her to remind me that I had to share the gospel in obedience to the call of making disciples.

As we parted ways, I thanked the anonymous lady and then I prayed asking God what this all meant.

Well maybe it is a test. To share the gospel with as many as can reach.

In retrospect, Johannesburg has made me miss the quiet communal life which I had become accustomed to while I was in Kosi bay. The early morning adrenaline rush accompnied by a busy schedule has become a new normal for me.

My prayer is that God will continue to send workers into the harvest as proclaimed in Matthew 10. I pray that while in the different seasons we learn to obey the voice of God.
