Christian testimonies: A week to remember back in Kosi bay
Greetings to you all once more. I pray that you are well and that you have found the content on our blog encouraging. Without any further delay I would like to express my gratitude for the prayers and words of encouragement during our stay here in Manguzi. Life in the countryside has reminded me of how valuable it is to be in the Kingdom of God. Today I just wanted to share a story about something that happened during the course of this week.
A trip to the barbershop
It was Monday morning and for some strange reason I wondering if I should trim the overgrown hedges of the trees at the place where we are staying or rather do it at another time. I then decided to continue with my trimming until I heard a vibration in my pocket. Putting away my tools I took a look at my phone to see who it might be. It was my mom. What a surprise !. "Happy birthday son", with an excited voice. I thanked my mom and we spoke for a short while before I went back to my tree trimming. By then my phone wss buzzing with birthday messages.
I decided to take a break and it was then that I joined the Cronje family at their tent. It seemed that they would be going to Manguzi town in a few minutes and that I should get ready if I was going to join.
It wasn't long before I found myself walking into a barbershop. I noticed that the baber seemed to struggle with English so I spoke to him with him in French which was familiar to him. His friend from Burundi spoke Swahili which I knew very little of and yet his English was better. So eventually I began to speak to both men about Jesus and what He has done for me. I believe that the conversation between the three of us was ordained by God and that in whatever situation we are in we need to share our faith with the people around us. I enjoy a quote which say," Preach the gospel at, but if necessary use words".
After the short visit to Manguzi, I spent some time to thank God for the miracle of being born again. If we look around us today and see how broken our world is and how narrow the road to eternal life is, then we will appreciate that it is a miracle to be counted amoungst the saved.
With that being said, I thank the Lord for the birthday messages and gifts not forgetting the delicious cake. It was beautiful to spend the day with both the Vilakazi and Cronje family.
Salutations
This week also marks the reminder of the death of Jesus Christ who is the very reason why we can rejoice in seeing our names appearing in the Book of Life. No miracle or wonder can overtake that. On that note I would like to encourage you to keep praying for one another and for us all. Let us show that the Kingdom of God is here whenever we find ourselves sent by God to various places.
Until next time. May the peace of the Lord be with you.
Beloved family. May you keep shining the Light of Jesus and sharing His Gospel in season and out of season. Love in Christ Jesus!
