Christian testimonies: Summary of our week in Lambert's bay
I am grateful to share what the Lord has been doing in our lives. Greetings to you all. Well, I don't think justice will be done if I didn't start my story from the beginning.
The week started off, last Sunday with a short trip to the famous Lambert's bay, Bird Island. One thing that you will notice there is the Cape gannet bird which by the way is a bird, only found on the Westen coastline of this part of the world. Having the luxury of two distinct locations, it calls home (Namibia and Lambert's bay, South Africa), the Cape gannet is a large seabird which is distinguished by its black and white colour, not forgetting its majestic crown thar rests on the top of its head. So the De beer family and I took some time to visit this birds sanctuary here in Lambert's bay and I learnt quite a lot actually.
That was later followed by a visit to Juan's house where we would be hosted to a Sunday braai (babarque). We were also blessed to be joined by Aunty Ina and Uncle Wits, who had hosted us to a Sunday meal, not so long ago. It was great to fellowship with them all and we even took a short walk to the beach which was not far from Juan's house. It was amazing how we were treated to a good meal to start the week.
The day before that, we also had some fellowship with some bretheren that included Leon and his wife, François and his wife as well as Uncle Btian from the habour. Well, we ended playing a game called Turkey's and eagles after having an Indonesian meal which Tian had prepared.
Fast-forward to Tuesday, Nanke and Elmi went to the primary school here in Lambert's bay to share the gospel. From what I can gather that went quite well.
On Saturday, Quinten a friend we got to meet in George, joined us with Juan and Jake's. Looking back, it was good to see Quinten again within a short space of time from the last we met and I enjoyed the fellowship we had with him and Juan.
This Sunday, was a bit interesting as we set out to spend some time in Lambert's bay town sharing the gospel over a meal, which Tian and Nanke had prepared. It was great that Quinten, could join us and we began to share the gospel with the local people that went past us. It was amazing how the gospel was shared even with the Muslims who chose to argue about the diety of Jesus. The children also got to hear the good news and it was so amazing how little Elle(2 years old) and Sia(3 years old), took turns to serve the people with some food. There was a few drunkards who tried to unsettle our gospel sharing opportunity and yet against all odd we managed to pull through the day.
After all our efforts, we returned home for some fellowship with Quinten, over a cup of coffee. So it was great to shed insight into a day thar the Lord had blessed us with, to witness about Jesus and the good news. It's amazing how our conversation semmed to be like one of long lost friends who had finally found each other and wanted to catch up on the latest events in their lives. It was through the sharing of our experiences though, that we realised how much work the Lord had been doing in us and how we have spiritually grown from the time we began.
On that note, I have to point out that the clock is ticking in the opposite direction for us in Lambert's bay. But for the week gone by, we thank God for what He has done throuhh us and we pray that the week ahead will be fruitful. Until next time it's goodbye.
