Christian Testimony: A weekend in the Sutherland townships.
Greetings to all our readers from all walks of life. It is good to be sharing a christian testimony based on what God has been doing. I have a spiritual brother of mine who has been walking this journey with me for sometime now. Recently we went back to a township here in Sutherland with the cross.
As usual the township is a hive of activity during the weekend and it is difficult to get people's attention and share the gospel with the community. We each took turns carrying the cross and at some point attempted to recruit some of the little children to join us. We were truly blessed with fruitful conversations along the way. I recall Tian sharing the gospel with an elderly man who had stopped by on our path. We managed to pray for this man whose health seemed to be in a bad shape.
Later along the way, I stopped by a young woman to share the gospel with her. I mentioned something in book of Matthew chapter 7 reminding her of the day of judgement and how our actions would be put on a scale for us. And Jesus emphasizes that on that day they will be many not a few but many who will give accounts of things they did in His name yet He will deny them a place to dwell with Him in heaven. At that point, tears began rolling down her eyes. Something must have clicked and so the two of us began praying in the middle of the road. But I suppose that this is a valid question concerning the Kingdom of Heaven and what we need to do to inherit everlasting life.
Something worth mentioning, came up this morning, while I was talking to Tian about changing the narrative to suite a certain audience. Jesus was clear in Matthew 10 special note to verse 7 where he speaks of the Kingdom. In the next verse, Jesus speaks of the results that accompany this instruction.
Our journey going forward with the cross brought us to a school were we had to intercede for the students as well as the community there. I would like to give special mention to the kids that took part as well as Louis who walked with us together with his son and not forgetting Margaret whose input was also valuable. In retrospect, it seemed as though our journey was for the few people that cared to listen yet in the spirit something is definitely happening. I pray for this coming week and hope that all people will be available for service in God's Kingdom wherever they have been planted.
Be blessed
