Bible study week: Sharing Jesus part 4

Greetings to you all. I am excited about our growing audience. All glory to God. Let me start of by thanking all the people that keep supporting this blog. It is truly awesome that we can learn about Jesus on this blog. Well this week's topic is going to be based on the impact of God in the church and how He provides the increase for the Kingdom. There is also a video below this article which goes with the article. Enjoy.

The impact of God in sharing the gospel

While the African continent faces many economic and social challenges evangelism in Africa has produced fruit as a result of the efforts of evangelists who have brought the gospel to our doorstep. However, there is still a lot of work to be done.

In our houses, especially in the city, we often have the blessing of light bulbs that give us light when it gets dark. Have you ever wondered how the energy to light up the room comes to your house from the power station. Well there is a transport system called a conductor.

In the above analogy, God as the light source searches the earth for obedient sons who will send out the good news to the unsaved.

James 2:14 (NIV) states:

"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?"

This verse emphasizes the importance of actions alongside faith. It suggests that faith alone, without corresponding actions that demonstrate that faith, is not sufficient. James challenges believers to live out their faith in practical ways, such as through good works and helping others.

James 1:27 (NIV) states:

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

This verse highlights two key aspects of genuine faith: caring for those in need (such as orphans and widows) and living a life of moral purity.

It emphasizes the importance of both social responsibility and personal holiness.

James 2:5 (NIV) states:

"Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?"

This verse emphasizes that God values faith and love over worldly wealth or status. It highlights that often those who are materially poor are spiritually rich, as they rely on God and are heirs to His kingdom.

1 Corinthians 3:6 (NIV):

"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow."

In this verse, the Apostle Paul is emphasizing that while humans may play roles in spreading the message of the Gospel, it is ultimately God who causes spiritual growth and transformation. Paul refers to himself as the one who "planted" by preaching the Gospel, while Apollos helped "water" by nurturing the believers, but God is the one who brings about the increase.

Acts 2:41-43 (NIV) states:

41 "Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day."

42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

43 "Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles."

These verses describe the immediate response of the new believers after Peter's sermon. They committed to learning from the apostles, building community, sharing meals, and engaging in prayer. The early church was marked by unity, devotion, and awe as they witnessed the miraculous signs and wonders performed by the apostles.

Key principle

In as much as we undertake the responsibilities that God has given to us to carry out His mandate we should allow God's power to take charge.

The demonstration of the Kingdom of God is done through active faith as James would put it.

Conclusion

I pray that God will work in ýour hearts to invite at least one person that God has put in your path to be part of His Kingdom. One person added to the Kingdom can make a difference in the Kingdom of God.

Until we meet again next week.

Lets keep making disciples.
